rough cut the tele body on the bandsaw. it's somewhere between 44 and 45mm thick, and feels about twice the weight of the squier body i'm using as a template. not too late to make a left handed guitar, were i to be perverse about it.

Let the shellac flow!
This is just the first ‘horse it on with a rag coat’. But I’ve changed my sealing/sanding/grain filling process to good effect, so it’s already pretty shiny

did you use a grain filler on that? i think i won't need one with the london plane. it's very tight grained.

On the back and sides I used water based grain filler, but before that I used pumice/shellac in a sealing/filling step.

You’d not need the filler for the plane or maple - but the mahogany would be opened pored (which might be a nice contrast).

I would Recommend the pumicing step though.
