My uncle passed away yesterday. We were close and one of the things we really loved to talk about was music. He turned me on to a lot of things that I would have otherwise dismissed like Blondie, Gary Numan, and Tom Petty. His big love was David Bowie and we shared that. We never got to go see him together (he saw him years ago, I saw him at his last gig here) but we often would just send each other a message along the lines of “Glastonbury version of I’m Afraid of Americans” and you’d just know it would be a belter. That’s it, just some thoughts. I’ll miss him.
