I bought two the other day to try it and I've a recipe for braised chicory but I had a taste of it raw and it's disgusting. Does anyone know if it tastes different cooked?

I like it raw, made a salad a while ago with chicory leaves, ricotta and pine nuts, it was nice.On its own though it might not be so good, did you put a dressing on it?
Have never had it cooked....
