action force vs. baron ironblood?

what did that mini-comic come with?

I think it came with a Red Shadow soldier.

Me and one of the guys in work spent about two hours on this site yesterday

http://www.yojoe.com/international/unitedkingdom/battleactionforcemini.shtml

comparing which stuff we had back in the day.

If you were into these toys this site will make you sob for your youth

those were the days

Ah Action Force.

When I was a kid I went to canada and came back with a suitcase full of "GI Joe" gear.
All the lads in school were more than happy to give me their big bloody tanks etc. in exchange for the american version of silver, or cobra commander or whoever.
A few months later you could get them everywhere.
Hoho!

Jesus but all the chaps had a go off Scarlet wha?
She was always better than Leia cos she had knees.

Was it not Eagle?
I seem to remember the mini-comic and Eagle was MY comic as a kid

It could indeed have been Eagle - but Battle! became Battle - Action Force, didn't it?

eagle merged with tiger

Eagle Mergers

The new Eagle merged with several comics during its lifetime. Sometimes it was with a well established comics such as Tiger or Battle. Other times it seemed that a comic was created just so that it could be merged into Eagle and boost its sales e.g. Mask and Wildcat. In all cases the title of the comic soon reverted back to Eagle. Below is a list of comics Eagle merged with and the stories the merger brought into the comic.

Scream (1.9.84)
"Monster"
-didn't last long
"The 13th Floor"
-lasted for another 4 years

Tiger (6.4.85)
"Billy's Boots"
-was soon given a free tansfer to the "Roy of the Rovers" comic
"Death Wish"
-kept going for about 4 more years
"Golden Boy"
-didn't last long
"Star Rider"
-didn't last long

Battle (30.1.88 )
Charley's War
Johnny Red
Storm Force

Mask (29.10.88 )

Wildcat (8.4.89 )

D'ye remember The Alchemist's Head on Dame St.? 'twas the Road Records of comics and lead figures... great days, great days
