CDA to MP3 converter (1 Viewer)

Story fokes,
Elderly workmate of mine got one of those vinyl to mp3 masheens lately & apparently the only output that it can make are CDA files. Against all advice (http://theoatmeal.com/comics/computers) I've told them I'd look into something that could convert these files to mp3 or even mp4.

Google isn't giving me much help bar a couple of programs that give you a free trial. Anyone aware of any good CDA to mp3 converters out there? A technologically illiterate old dude (and mildly retarded younger dude) will be forever in your debt if you can sort us. Nice one!

so far as i know CDA is only a like ashortcut rather then a format. try clicking opn the file properties to see if it tells you where the aiff is at, and aiff can be converted using itunes.

As Ann says, as far as I know CDA files have no actual "audio" data in them - they're sort of like an index for the data on the CD, and can only be played from a CD in a CD Drive.
Perhaps they could burn them to CD and then rip them with something free like CDex? :
