After a cycling accident shortly after the Dreams album came out, I was unable to use one of my arms for a period of time. This record was entirely programmed using a computer mouse balanced on a speaker during that time. I took a lot of influence from Koji Kondo in that the early Nintendo had a really limited amount of sounds available - which while having one working arm and having to hand draw in every single note in midi seemed relatable. I imagined I was sound tracking retro video games and because I was living beside a forest I started envisaging some kind of ecological version of mega man or something, so the title track has got the main theme, power ups, video game deaths and all the final boss stuff, like it’s just different levels of an imaginary game from an imaginary 80s. The other side of the album is characteristically taking more from people like Tomita, Ambient music and string composition.

I was interviewed about this record for this show, its near the end somewhere.
