Cancelled (5 Viewers)

Wow. So between this and Tavistock it seems reasonable to say that the medical profession is trying to balance supporting actually-trans youth on the one hand, and helping otherwise-distressed youth who have self-diagnosed, and incorrectly think that a gender transition will solve their problems, on the other

Yeah, Finland were making the same noise too.

Lot of people on twitter "disappointed" in Rosin Murphy's response yesterday.

They're not, they're disappointed that she doesn't agree with them/they're disappointed in her because she disagrees with them. Or rather that they're inferring (not wholly unreasonably) that she has other opinions on the matter that they disagree with.

"It was no kind of apology." She presumably thinks she's right, why would she apologise?

Maybe people shouldn't put so much personal investment in pop singers.

Is it even possible to apologise in public in a way that appeases people?
No
There's very little internet clout in forgiveness

You constantly have to be on the left or right of your left and right fellows
You have to go hard in the paint every time, otherwise you're basically helping the other side

In this case to 'forgive' Roisin would leave yourself open to be accused of being ok with "anti-trans talking points"
And then you're a tweet away from cancellation yourself at that point

So to remain pure, you have to dismiss every apology, or say it's not enough, or whatever.
