Britpop backlash (1 Viewer)

get outta that, that song was terrible then and is terrible now.

actually it sounds a bit better now that i listen to it again. Good for them. He still does that annoying shouty bit though.

Their rise and fall happened in the space of about 2 singles, was a bit mad really.
It's a shite song and they were a shite band. And the singer was a complete cunt. Not as bad as Hurricane #1

Dreadful stuff altogether.

Hurricane #1, the Unbelievable truth and The Supernaturals. Travis were the biggest band in the UK and Coldplay were just around around the corner. It truly was a glorious time.

Or the beginning of the end. Basically

Hurricane #1 and Travis and Embrace were shit Oasis
The Unbelievable Truth were shit Radiohead
and Coldplay were just shit shit.

They were all on fairly sizeable labels too except Travis I think.

Shows how desperate A&R folks where at the time I suppose.

Ooooh! Sly dig at Oasis there "What's a Wonderwall anyway?"

I bet the Gallaghers were fuming

Writing to Reach You remains an absolute gem of a song.

Hey personally I love the post britpop landscape of indie bands 1997-2000. Travis had a whole pile of great songs. Total dullards though.

They reprised that in their even more controversial Slide Show

Cause there is no design for life
There's no devils haircut in my mind
There is not a wonderwall to climb or step around
But there is a slideshow and it's so slow, flashing through my mind

I did up this compilation a while ago.

I first saw them on some TV battle of the bands programme, which they won .Then I heard she had a famous mother she'd gone solo and Murder on the daawncefloor was everywhere.

I didn't realise they had fans
