i don't understand people who don't like this show, or who - as i saw during the week - complain that nothing ever happens. what the what, now?

Yeah, I agree. The plotting is tight and the stories are linked together brilliantly. The characters are all amazingly written and played. Visually nothing comes close, the costume and set designs are incredible.
