if they don't play Never Clever, Globe Alone and All Your Life then I don't care

christ, just listened to the studio verson of never clever and it's bloody awful

here, has anyone got the studio version of Never Clever?

i'd love to hear it plz, great song

I don't know if you found this, but if you didn't it's here: http://sendmedeadflowers.com/music/14 Never Clever 1.mp3

I missed this thread the first time around. Think Tank is my favorite blur album. I actually think Damon Albarn is cool, with his own record label releasing that world music stuff and what not. I saw them after they released Think Tank and it was a very enjoyable gig. I don't know about now though.. I quite liked Gorillaz second album too, especially the Dennis Hopper monologue toward the end. Modern Life Is Rubbish is very good and maybe even Parklife in places. I hated that Blur vs Oasis (vs Bis for a while) stuff. Not a big Pulp fan either. Supergrass were always good though. Love their song 'Moving'.

yeah, I found it. I think that's actually the demo. I have decided that the only good version is that live one on the b-side to chemical world

I just found a bootleg tape of my very first gig, blur in the the point in 1997, really good setlist actually:

1. Beetlebum
2. M.O.R.
3. There's No Other Way
4. Colin Zeal
5. Globe Alone
6. Popscene
7. On Your Own
8. She's So High
9. For Tomorrow (Extended)
10. Country Sad Ballad Man
11. Chinese Bombs 12. Advert
13. Bank Holiday
14. Girls & Boys
15. Death Of A Party
16. This Is A Low
17. Theme From Retro
18. The Universal
19. Parklife
20. Coping
21. I'm Just A Killer For Your Love
22. Song 2

i think i was at that. i remember my friend and i talked about how grey was the best coloured tshirt to wear to show sweat stains. i think his tshirt said 'beernuts'.

for me, blur seemed to get better as they went along. mind you i never paid much attention to them before The Great Escape.
which was the first CD i bought. i should probably go listen to early stuff.

nah, that was the 13 tour in 1999, I remember because of the beernuts t-shirt

Me and Wobbler scored two birds at that gig .|..|
dEUS supported, didn't they?

The Independent had a small article bout Blur reforming for some gig in the UK this summer.

Ha id say that'd bring back memories, must give me a copy

wouldn't be that difficult though?

No. You could summarise their LPs like this

DM - really really fun record with great energy

WTSMG - pretty good even if over-familiar

BHN - some good songs, terribly produced and very hard to listen to

SOTSOG - psych! three good songs, rest mediocre

HC - one ok song

DBTT - two ok songs

DOYS - three to four strong tunes and no stinkers

Definitely Maybe has a couple of good songs. That's about it. In my humble opinion.

Each? In total? Did you get none and Wobbler pulled them all?

haha no we did a bit of a swap

they did support. i remember the story that wobbler tried to buy them a drink and he couldnt get served or something?

don't remember that. They asked us to take our tops off for them and we said that we would if they did. Which, surprisingly, they did. It was like an episode of Skins or something.

i would go with that.

i like a few of their songs but mostly just Noel and a guitar is infinitely better than full band. soft spot for champagne supernova extended john squire solo live version and acquiesce
