The success of LadyFest has got me thinking...

Wouldn't it be great if we had a BlackFest!

All we need is bands with a high ratio of black to white musicians, although just bands consisting of Africans would be preferable.

There could be a stage for black singer/songwriters... maybe we could squeeze in a few mixed race performers too.

We can serve vegan food and have black related race-workshops.

It will encourage and promote black music in Ireland, but obviously be open to everyone.

If it takes off we can have a BrownFest or even a YellowFest!

What do you think guys?

Froog, that BlackFest equates Black with Evil.
The BlackFest I hope to begin will be one of peace and love.
I want to send a bright message of equality by promoting musicians based on their race.

To be honest, it would be pushing it if Ray Shah thinks he can even do back stage work on the mixed race stage.
He's as black as a daisy in fairness.

This lad's ok though.

If BlackFest goes well, I might hold an online poll to see if people want a BrownFest or YellowFest next.
I'm leaning towards Yellow myself as it's a race that is quite literally close to my heart.
If this year isn't a huge ticket seller I'll just merge all three Fests into RaceFest.
By 'Race' I mean non-white, obviously, but not anti-white.
LadyFest doesn't mean anti-male, so it's kind of the same buzz.

As a treat, here's a sneak preview of YellowFest.

Nearly 600 students flocked to Roble Field on Sunday to watch Hip Hop artist Lupe Fiasco perform at Blackfest 2007, an annual event that celebrates the culture of the African Diaspora.
