Best/Worst Britpop era bands (2 Viewers)

I liked the last 2 Boo Radleys albums, C'Mon Kids and Kingsize. Found Kingsize in my CDs last week and put it on. Sounds horrible, the production is sickening. Some good songs though.
C'Mon Kids is great.
Giant Steps is overrated, imho. Wake Up - have never heard it.

I walked into a shop and bought tapes of Cast's All Change, Mosely Shoals by OCS and Everything Must Go by the Manics on the same day. That was the first day I went to a shop to buy music.

I was a bit young for britpop but I did love

(I don't even know if they really count, to be honest? I've always been pitifully bad at being 'relational' about music - but Luke Haines!)

I'm gonna re-post this from the boxset thread, still heart the wildearts 1992-1999

I'd really like a Britrock Boxset

haha, wow. There you have it, the Britrock Boxset. Everyone's least favourite genre

Yep. Though if I were to split hairs they were NWONW, they died before britpop happened.

Yeah for sure, maybe I someone should start a NWONW thread. I really like that Come One Join The High Society album, must dig it out for a spin.

They most certainly weren't a shite band. They just made a bollox of their album. The Fierce Panda 7" of Same Band/Floodlit World is one of the best things ever.

I knew them

and they were ultra sound

I actually did know them and they were sound. Met them on a ferry going to France on a school tour. Really really sound in fact. The keyboard even woke up the guitarist who was asleep on a section of seating so I could have his autograph. He looked like he'd been drinking every day for the previous year yet was very pleasant to the awestruck 15 year old boy standing there smiling at him excpectantly.

yeah I remember loving that song, and then the album got slated and I never heard of them again?

might be worth digging up on ebay!

i got mistaken for Gaz Coombes by some Japanese tourists a few years back! i used to have the best sideburns in all the land

Stan, yeah i know about The Bluetones playing! can't wait

I was at that gig. It was really good.

I remember it was in the middle of some mad storms.

The Bluetones were deadly.

This thread though - I have to admit to liking pretty much every band mentioned in it at some stage or other. Even Kula Shaker, before coming to my senses.

Me too. I thought Tattva was pretty far out when I was 14 years old. I had a Space t-shirt. I own three Shed 7 cassette singles.
Jaysis, I can't believe I look down my nose at emo kids.
