Best music of 2011 so far - what have I missed? (1 Viewer)

Panda Bear Tomboy. Despite hearing much of it last year and almost being a little overexposed to it by the time it came out, listening to it recently reconfirms what I though initially... I really like it.

Cass McCombs' WIT'S END is another very good album as is Fleet Foxes' Helplessness Blues and Tuneyard's W H O K I L L. I always struggle to think of others... but I've bought Nat Baldwin's People Changes and California Lite by Key Losers on mail order from the States that are both really, really enjoyable.

bon iver album probably my favourite thing so far this year.
true widow's latest one is great too.

not music, but dave mustaines autobiography is supposed to be pants, and "a bit 'me, me, me'" according to a friend who's read it.

Take it to the Best of 2011 Books Thread, Dudley.

Actually, take it to the Best of 2010 Books Thread, if it's going to be like that.

I would give a shout out to Skull Defekts - Peer Amid, Low - C'Mon, White Denim - D, and I think the new TV on the Radio is also pretty damn good.

with anto to a point. don't hate the stones, but if ever there was a meh band, it's them. i get their historical significance but the tunes are snoresville. same with dylan, only he's even more stultifyingly boring.

<ducks>

+1 to this. Early Stones albums are strictly second rate, and the later stuff is mostly flatulent dadrock. Overrated band in my opinion.

Between the Buttons one 'hit' is Yesterday's Papers, a fucking annoying song if ever there was one, and the rest is pure filler.

Ahh here...yisser are fucking MENTAL!The Stones are DEADLY!!
