Bands that were once good (3 Viewers)

I liked it well enough back in the day but played it a few times over the last year and came to the conclusion that Every Picture I Paint and Everything Flows are the only standouts.

Grand Prix - Bandwagonesque - Thirteen for me.

I loved A Catholic Education too - it was kind of fuzzy and blurry. But looking back now, I guess its more endearing than particularly great.

Those other three are ace high. Though I seem to remember Thirteen getting a hammering in one of the weeklies (probably NME).

I am committed to teenage fanclub by hook or by crook. i can never participate in threads like this because i obscure the lines between 'great' and 'oh bless' too easily.

Here's why:
Lost Wisdom is brilliant

Dawn is amazing:

And these are excellent:

Phil Elverum didn't really get terrible. He's just so prolific that it's easy to overlook the good stuff. The Black Wooden EP was amazing, and his new album sounds like it might be reminiscent of that style. And yeah, dawn is amazing. Seven new songs (free here http://www.archive.org/details/SevenNewSongsofMountEerie) was amazing. Lost Wisdom was great.

Just listened to Wyrd visions there, sounds pretty good. I'll have to check them out.
