are you being facetious? i made the pasties before, they're a good idea. i put my own filling in and they werent great because i selected bad stuff to put in but they were grand for lunch. you can eat them cold too and theyre grand.

Interested in a 'Creamy Rice Pudding with THREE types of apple in it' recepie?

(Not baking, but great winter warmer!)

Wasn't being facetious at all.
Pasties are a great idea - I'd like to make my own. The ones you buy off the Cornish Pasty Company are just too much.

I'll definitely give these a try.
And thanks for the other suggestions!

Treacle tart. It's the business.

Use shortcrust pastry for the base - it tastes lovely if you make it with egg and butter.
Mix up about 10oz of fresh breadcrumbs, 4 floz of cream, about four or five tablespoons of golden syrup and about a teaspoon of lemon juice.
Line a tin with the pastry and leave it in the fridge for 15 minutes, mix the rest of the ingredients together until smooth, pour into pastry and bake for about half an hour/forty minutes. Tis good.
