wouldn't getting de-baptised mean you believe in it?

It's more a matter of not being associated in any way with the church. If my name was put on the records of any other association that i disliked then i'd want it off there too

In some rural parts of Italy if you want to renounce Catholicism you need to work up a hard sweat through toil, collect up the sweat in a bottle and then hand the bottle to a local priest wearing a white glove on your left hand.

The priest will then hold the bottle in a cupboard in his house for 40 days and 40 nights, giving you time to go back on your decision. If you don't go back on your decision, he then pours the sweat in to a mouth of a goat.
