Queers don't mind being called queers like, do they?
that depends if you're talking about people who choose to define themselves as 'queer' because they don't want to be catagorised by, and in opposition to, straight mainstream culture. it's an established school of thought in academia and politics, but not every homosexual or bisexual person regards themselves as 'queer', and many find the word extremely offensive.

Well clearly I wasnt generalising. I was talking about specific drivers rabbiting on about their ridiculous opinions as though a) you care or b) you agree.

I know several taxi drivers who are none of these things. what bothers me is how some gypos think that their taxi plate gives them some right to hold court about their prejudices.

Gypos, hahaha zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

That's a lovely turn of phrase in a conversation about racism and its rise...

Used to live near mountjoy square, that lumbering dinosaur used to go up and down parnell street all day drinking cans.

Used to live in MJSQ myself and that guy was around every day then he dissappeared for ages. (This ia a couple of years back). I'm to assume he's made a return to his beat? Does he still carry cans in his trouser pockets and one in his hand at all times?

Don't really know Dixer, left the area 4 years ago (yikes where did it go), but yes, back then he always his emergency can in pocket, a drunken nazi doesn't want to run out of fuel on parnell street.

i wish everyone would just be nice to each other. and not breed dogs to kill each other. that's not cool.

yeah that guy was a nuttjob- but hardly a nazi
Im not insane and id have difficulty shaving any symbol legibly on the back of my own head- which leads me to think someone did it for him.
I used to live on hill street and could hear the gentle sound he used to make lunging at and repeatedly head butting the metal door beside my gaff.

He did last year by the way...sniff

what about the guy who lives in drumcondra and who has a celtic car, and a celtic jersey wearing dog?
what a grate guy.

it's a white ford escort emblazoned with celtic logos, scarves, banners etc. It's quite highlarious looking. He also has a dog (or maybe 2) who are regularly attired in celtic jersies as well. It's safe to say he's a big fan. He also looks like he'd kick the head off you if you were a rangers fan and all.

it's not like he invented prejudice or has a gas chamber in the boot of his car.

Ah please, I clearly wasn't suggesting that....

I can't, but I can believe (if ya get me!) that you can talk of someone refusing to give someone a lift based on their colour and in the same breath call him 'the coolest taxi driver ever'. In the scheme of things it matters little I suppose but it galled me nontheless!

I've had my fair share of wacko taxi drivers with wildly un PC views but I tend to take what they say with a pinch of salt. They spend their time driving around listening to Marian, Joe, Adrian and Chris. Of course they're going to have somewhat fucked up views on things!! And as a cyclist I would like to totally generalise here and state that none of the cunts can drive!

i might have seen that car before
im not sure but one of my mates has a deadly photo of what could only be described as a celtic car , im not sure if it's the same one (im shit with names of car types)
