Got a message from someone called Alois via the Stoat website today, plugging a European tour by a Yank "anti-semitic band" called Grand Belial's Key. They're playing The Lower Deck on February 24th - do ye reckon the Lower Deck folks know what their buzz is? Perhaps someone who knows them (Allen?) should let them know?

Meh they're just anti religion in general and use blasphemic imagery Im pritty sure politics is nothing got to do with it.

there's a big difference between anti religion and anti semetic
i mean i hate jews as much as the next guy but they could at least be clear about it

Hahaha. all religion is negative and has done nothing to benefit the world so personally I see no problem with an anti-religious band playing. I think some have labeled that band anti-semetic simply because they attack judaism aswell as the usual ones e.g christianity which for some reason is perfectly acceptable.

Grand Belial's Key is an American Black Metal band, formed in 1992 by guitarist Gelal Necrosodomy and vocalist Lord Vlad Luciferian.

Members

* Gelal Necrosodomy - guitars
* Demonic - bass
* The Gulag - drums
* Grimnir - vocals

The Shitagogue

Shit paints the sides of the chosen edifice
A goat is murdered to terrorize god
Inhumane sympathy for anal palpitations
Untamed methods of blood baptism

In constant fear the female hideth
A dirty gypsy in a land of crooks
Her menstrual offerings stain the altar
The legions hail the Teutonic sign

Passover genocide
Merciless fire

Hounds of misery and infectious wounds
Crippled pig fixed by a slew of silver spikes
Web of misfortune and deceit
Lord of the nomadic human pork

Tyranny returns
The synagogue burns

Proselytes can't abstain from fucking
Full of pus were the arteries of the elders
Miscreants wage impious battle
Christ bears not a single weapon
His bones crushed by the hammer
Then drowned at night in the morasses

Satanic bullets destined to perforate
The chosen people of ZOG
Hordes of true Black Metal arsonists
Roast the red fathers of the protocol

Hmm I wasn't aware of that. But the band themselves, grand belials key seem to deny being political or just anti-semetic,thats what I was going by.
we're not meant to associate their "anti monotheism" lyrics with the members' involvement with other NSBM activities

Commonly hailed as the fathers of US Black Metal, Grand Belial's Key have had a bumpy and controversial career since the band was formed in 1992. Early on the band was plagued with internal problems with vocalist/guitarist Lord Vlad Luciferian (who later left to join Ancient), who appears only on the first two demo releases. He was replaced by "The Black Lourde of Crucixion" who now handles the vocals and drums. His arrival marked a more "professional" shift for the band, which would release its first full-length album, "Mocking the Philanthropist", in 1997. The release was stopped dead in its path, however, when German distributor Rough Trade refused to distribute the album, claiming some of the booklet's contents could be considered illegal in Germany. The band's label, Wood-Nymph Records, refused to print a new booklet and was then left with no means of distribution and went bankrupt. The controversy didn't end with the album: The band was frequently a victim of boycotts and cancellation of its live gigs, and played live only about nine times in its first nine years of existence.
Between that time and 2001, the band released a couple of tapes and singles. 2001 saw the re-release of "Mocking the Philanthropist" under the name "Castrate the Redeemer" by German label Barbarian Wrath. More importantly, their second full-length album, "Judeobeast Assassination", was released by French cult label Drakkar Productions. The album showcased a marked evolution of the band's sound while sticking to their roots. End All Life Productions also released a vinyl version, and a number of foreign labels re-issued the album on cassette the following year.
The band is still going strong while still fighting the ever present controversy, fueled partly by The Black Lourde's involvement in two NSBM bands, Infernal Hatred and Aryan War. While GBK's lyrical themes are, like any self-respecting Black Metal band, anti-Christian and/or anti-religion, the band's detractors claim the contrary, mixing the individual members' personal beliefs or opinions with the simple anti-religious message GBK is trying to promote. And that's probably just the beginning...

I was under the impression that it was Grand Belial's Key that are playing, and not Aryan War.

You're right to be concerned though, an anti religious, non-political black metal band playing in Dublin is surely going to usher in the fourth reich! Irish metalheads are polishing their SS helmets and preparing to invade Poland as we speak.

"Nazi metal" eh? But then again, punks think sneezing is Nazi.
