Groom is a pop band from Dublin whose members are Mike, Wil, Brian, Jeroen and Ruan. With three albums under their belt to date: ‘Stitch’ (2004) and ‘All This Happened, More Or Less’ (2006) and ‘At The Natural History Museum’ (2009—out now on US label Tight Ship Records), a fourth is due in March 2010. Groom have played loads of gigs all over Ireland, and are planning on a short tour in Belgium in early 2010, all the while getting audiences to sing/clap/kiss along to their synthy pop/rock songs, calling each other names on stage and sometimes even handing out sweets. And they’ll continue to work hard on their music, because they’re also quite serious, intelligent fellows with an earnest outlook and a strong work ethic. Some of them even wear glasses

“…they offer up something sadly missing on the Dublin scene….I could listen to it all day in fact.” – Mp3hugger

Drunken Boat are fantastic alt-folk the way it should be played, and have just released a beautiful album called Plumb the Depths. Their bio is too long though, I had to edit/crop it, sorry guys! Love this band.
.....Incorporating pre-recorded loops or samples made with guitars and harmonicas, electric guitar, drums and vocals, Brian, Dror and Shane of Drunken Boat produce alternative folk with a willingness to experiment and surprise. They constantly shake their style keeping it interesting for themselves and listeners while maintaining a folky and floaty feel that is associated with Drunken Boat. Their new album “Plumb the Depths” is about exploration and discovery; musically and lyrically. It is the second in what will become a loose trilogy. The follow up will be out in the first half of 2010.

Not much about Gran Casino out there on the ol' internet but suffice to say we've been hoping to play a gig with these guys for ages because they're totally unique and have loads of mad instruments like harps and brass and clarinet and stuff and there's a whole big gang of them, which is always good because at least we'll have a few people at the gig if nobody else shows up. Oh and, their music is really great too. Ruan reckons they sound like Caribou around the time of 'Up In Flames' but ah, you know what they say about comparisons and all that. Only one way to find out, isn't there?
