Can't pick just five.... Resi Evil 4 - Half Life 2 - Pro Evolution Soccer 4 - Metal Gear Solid - Call of Duty - Hitman 2 - Virtua Tennis - Halo - Shenmue - Wipeout 3 - Football Manager 2005 - Burnout 3 - Mario Golf. Who said sequels are a bad thing? I don't know why everybody is so loved up on Beyond Good and Evil. I hate it's stupid face.

Great list John, but try BG&E again. I liked it a lot because I expected absolutely nothing from it.

I think Top Spin is better than Virtua Tennis. Shenmue is great. I remember having to explain to my housemate once why I was spending days in a game driving a forklift truck and stacking palettes. My reply was "I need to save money to buy a ticket to Hong Kong". I have rarely been so embarrassed in my life when I saw the look of pity in their eyes.

That's just the thing though... I thought for sure I'd love the game because most serious gamers were saying it's class. When I eventually picked it up on the cheap I felt I was in for something special but I just couldn't get into it. Too FRENCH or something.

Love that Shenmue story! Anyone else got worrying game tales? I once saw a man bite another man over a game of network Quake. Seriously.

Also on my phone I have a recording of my lady losing her temper when she was being overrun by the undead in Eternal Darkness.

Goes something like this....

"No... *click*...*click*...*click*click*click* No - F*ck! *click*click*click* Augh! F*ck off! *click*click*click* F*ck off you f*cking C*NT!!! Rrrrrraaaaaaaagh! *click*click*click*click*click*click* (dies). "
