ah lads don't be using up all your conversation on this thread. Ye'll have nothing to talk about at dinner tonite. Just staring into space wondering how to break the awkward silence. Like what happens every couple when they're 40.
 
if it makes you feel any better S.O. I've been there

after much mucking about I lost my connection for 10 days straight, much ringing up and very politely but firmly asking to be released for the contract... it became a hobby in fact... eventully got out, I think if you log enough hours on the phone with then they'll let you go... was given 5 euro off my bill and told that my a/c was 'qualified for cancellation' and I had to ring some other crowd to actually cancel it

next day it was working fine, been grand for a month, never rang them back
 
glad to know I'm not the only one who found them tough (or rather, pushy) to deal with, Pantone! How many times did you have to ring them!?

I rang them loads, and kept them on the line for ages, I was pretty firm but polite with them. Actually amusingly if you got chatting to them inbetween their system spewing up the next 'speech' they have to read out, they were grand and reasonably happy it admit that they were very busy with callers (read inbetween the lines: three is rubbish and we should know!)

At one point, in the middle of some fierce long call, one fella told me "Mr McCarthy, I would like to thank for our for the patience and manners with which you are holding yourself"

In fairness when I finished with them, or almost finished with them, I did make the point that the call centre workers were always fine to deal with, it's just they're working for a company who have no desire to actually provide any sort of quality service at all

on reflection I should've quit them anyhow, on principle, but once the service was back on I was too busy catching up on my youtube and porn to be bothered
 
I wish our internet provider would offer me money off. I had to ring them up cos the phone line was down (its a deal with phone internet and tv) and they were so horrible to me. Only that I was in desperate need of the house phone and my mobile was dead did I tolerate it. They kept saying take out this lead and that lead and I did that and then the girl snapped back at me, do you know what a lead is? Are you doing it right at all? I was so mad.
