Funnily enough though nobody would bat an eyelid if they were being held in the United States.

they were talking about the Olympics on the BBC radio 4 programme "The Moral Maze" - they managed to spend a bit of time debating the position of China as a powerhouse for bringing so many millions of its people out of poverty and that facts like these are often dropped from any spin or discussion on the country.
