assault on precinct 13 and the thing are definitely carpenter's best. i think precinct 13 just wins it for dialogue and for the most amazing arm breaking scene in any movie ever

after that, the fog definitey and prince of darkness, even if they're both basically a re-working of precinct 13
(which is a re-working of rio bravo anyway)

nah, it's in the breath
when MacReady is talking to Childs his breath turns to steam (from the extreme cold and shit)
but Childs breath doesn't

so this is kinda like a hint that Childs is infected

Here lads, whats the story with the Thing on DVD... In the production notes on my copy it says that the version i have is a non theatricle but an extended TV version of the movie NOT endorsed by Carpenter... Story? How many is there and which is the difinative version? There seems to be nothing new on my dvd... have i only ever seen the TV version of the movie??? AND it seems to have been reissued again... there is like 3 different covers out there... it's a Night Of The Living Dead DVD Fiasco all over again!!! I do dispair me...
