one of the guys in that band slammed a guy i know up against the wall in a toilet once and wouldve drawn blood had someone not intervened. I think it was after they lost (or maybe won) some local talent of the town competition in the local scout den or something. He was sore about something for some reason. I dunno.

It's okay to be jealous if you want to, but I wouldn't recommend it. The details of the deal may not make it all such a sweet thing for the band. A million euro can mean a lot of things, but remember that a record deal is an investment from the company, and the money isn't yours to keep. They won't see much until they make that money back for the company. Also, a big-money deal also can mean the band has signed away their publishing rights, or somehow compromised their full ownership of their own music.


Obviously, not knowing any details at all of Humanzi's deal, it's hard to say, but I'd always be suspicious of the six-figure stuff in terms of a band's best interest, unless they were already really well known.

So don't be jealous. In my opinion, and probably shared by most people here, if a band wants a deal, it is always better off signing one that involves smaller money, more artistic and financial control, and smart distribution and promotion. They may or may not have gotten that.
