The imminent decline of the USA (2 Viewers)

It feels like it'll be a "wait and see" situation. If he gets serious traction on a third term, then we're in trouble.

I was telling TD's about this shit 4 months ago tbh.

the ann post worldview is that it could lead to an election in ireland unless somehow FF manage to not turn it into all the young people leaving again for the 4/5th time.

Brexit will have to soften a fair bit.

the Donald wants to internatilise trade in the russian model mostly, which is gonna feed a media petri dish long term better than being exposed to foreigns.

Ireland sees tourism and FDI dropping for sure.

are we going to talk about the FDI shaped elephant in the room
I kinda feel like the whole point of people like Zuckerberg (and maybe even Musk) joining Trump's inner circle is to try and make sure that Big Tech's tax-avoidance won't be threatened. Trump is so unpredictable though it's not a safe bet

Rich Russians love spending money abroad.

Otherwise I agree with egg. If the tech bros don't get put up against a wall in the next four years, then FDI should be fine. Possibly.

Dump is not going to like the new Time magazine cover.

In musks case it was for egomania and the buying of govts that fund him.
Then zuckerberg had to follow or fold after that move.
Trump would be more interested in not offshoring tax havens for these monoliths imho.

But i see your point - i just think everything since trump 2.0 started has be all out maximalism, i expect that to continue.

some beautiful double-speak in the below... from JD Vance. speaking of china, but essential sums up the stance of the (currently) state sponsored tech bros

“Some of us in this room have learned from experience partnering with them means chaining your nation to an authoritarian master that seeks to infiltrate, dig in and seize your information infrastructure. Should a deal seem too good to be true, just remember the old adage that we learned in Silicon Valley, if you aren’t paying for the product, you are the product.”

Head of google right next to Musk and Bezos at the inauguration with Zukerberg at the end.
Revenge of the nerds it's kind of incredible that the US gave us FB and Google in the first place.
They let other countries make their shoes and ship them over trash to process.
I wonder if they pull the tech and pharma stuff out of here what they could be replaced by ?
Small factory's making hand painted miniature Trump statues or something like that.
