I'd never thought about it like that...

Isn't this new board deadly? Thanks Pete!

Re: Gear you've bought recentley:

New cymbal stands just arrived. These babies are seriously heavy duty. They are waaaaay better than the pearl ones ive had and only 39 euro each too. Quality. Evans drill bit thingy is awsome too.

i got two of the extra long weighted boom versions last year to take on tour. they are really well made and sturdy. still going strong.

got these a couple of months ago:

What're you gonna do with yer blue Ludwig, Old? Any plans?
Nope. If I could afford to, I'd partially retire the auld fellas.
Its the snare that needs the bearing edge seen to though.
Once I have some cash money, will deal with that!

Those 18" cymbals I would like a hear of!

whered you get the meinl dunchee? 'spensive? was looking at those and instanbuls recently.

i got it in music maker. they have a small meinl section these days. they can't do the same deals as they can on the sabians (which are generally cheaper than thomann) but it's nice to finally be able to walk in somewhere and listen to them. it cost me 258 euro.

heard good things about istanbul. would love to have a bash at a few in a shop.

heft! they're both pretty dark.

the saturation one is heavier. it resonates lovely. my only gripe is that it sounds at its absolute best when it's hit hard. this isn't a problem with what i'm playing at the moment but it makes it a little less versatile. nice, decent-sized unpolished bell.

the meinl is thinner (it's a medium cymbal) with a slight bell. sounds sweeter and more complex. very traditional (traditional finish).

you can listen to them on the meinl and sabian websites.

be careful about buying them man. your crash may be real sweet but the other cymbals in the range might be dissapointing. i was just thinking earlier about the sabian paragon crash. it's really nice but the rest of the paragon cymbals i tried were pretty shite sounding.
