Electric Picnic 2007 thread (2 Viewers)

Bumped into mr & mrs old - they're having a ball. Bjork was vg, apparently

LCD soundsystem are on now. Sound is great., even from way back here at the pickanick tables.

We are indeed. Total nightmare getting out of the carpark, but all the civil defence & cops on duty are really helpful. Considering the civil defence guys have been on site since 6am that's really saying something.

As we were heading back to the car on of the civil defence guys told us they were about to close the carparks & would be turning people away - 1am and they're still arriving.

Was talking to a cop after we parked earlier and he said that at that stage they'd already had twice the number of cars they were expecting.

Probably leave at 12. Going to miss the jimmy cake & delorentos but we're bringing our 11 year old niece so its going to be a long enough day for her.

Need to work out my strategy for ensuring I get in to see the beastie boys......

ah, home. it took just over an hour to get back, compared to over 6 hours to get there.

thank jebus

still not left yet for day 2.. and i have an emergency nurofen plus delivery to make

oh dear

Made a quick stop off for the 24 pack of nurofen and we're on the road again. Traffic is fine so far, but we shall see......

There's the delorentos boys doing the 60 second quiz with larry gogan on the wireless.

"Can you multiply four nines?" says larry.

"No."

Oh and we're lost.

Well after much mucking about over what to bring from the car / what not to bring / getting to entrance / going back to car etc we finally got in.

Traffic is 100% better than last night. Looks like the congestion was at least in part down to people not following the designated route & approaching the car parks from the wrong direction so screwing everything up. Ah well.

I'm in my back garden. I've got seven pikeys sitting round a bin and i'm serving up raw sausages wrapped in a nappy.

This is the Diesel Take-Away. You hippies can have your 'music'.

The Magic Numbers are going down really well. They went for the always reliable "anyone from meath? / anyone from mayo? / our parents are from there" cheap pops but I won't hold that against them.

Tonight in brief:

Erasure - big gay fun. Played all the hits etc.

Beastie Boys - holy fucking shit. So, so good. So many people crammed in to see them. Having them on in a tent must rate as the bizarrest booking choice of the weekend. But hey - I finally got to see them play live so I'm not complaining.

Chemical Brothers - absolutely incredible lighting / backdrop thingy, but to be honest it all left me a bit cold..
