this is embarrassing but its only you lot so...

I'm trying to put these shelves up- they've been in the shed for ages and I've lost the instructions.

How do I attach the supports to the wall??

I have the bags or plugs and screws but I cant figure out how I'm supposed to stick it to the wall

shameful i know.

Someone must have put up a set of these before? I have done it myself but I cant remember how!

And, let's just keep this between ourselves..ok?

I'll be putting them up on a brick/concrete wall

Plugs- like rawl plugs

hmm, i was expecting the howls of derison to start a lot earlier than this...

What magicbastarder said.
You'll also need understanding neighbours, a spirit level, measuring tape and a pencil.
And a screwdriver.

It'll be almost impossible without a hammer drill btw.

I've got the drill and bit- i think i have all the parts its just when I hold the support bit i cant figure out how I'm supposed to fix it to the wall?

I've been putting up shelves all morning but they were easy- is just this type that has me stumped

and i know its an easy job! I just have a mental block

Wouldn't it be great if there was site that had loads of scans of all sorts of instruction sheets, from airfix kits to flat pack furniture?

maybe they have that in heaven

Put hole in wall
Put rawl plug in wall
Hold wood against wall, lining up hole in wall with hole in wood.
Insert suitably sized screw.
Screw screw.

No?

no- there is a small hole- to mark where a screw is supposed to go no doubt on the back of the bracket- the part that will be flush against the wall

It doesn't seem that im meant to drill though it from the front

It's really annoying- these are the bog standard ones and all...they're specially designed so idiots like me can do it

Here johnny, best thing to do is go back to the shop and ask for a pair of ball growing kits. Water and trim them regularly until they're ready to strap on. Once that's done, you'll *breeze* through it.
