What movie did you watch last night? (17 Viewers)

I saw Kingsmen. In one way it was kind of entertaining but in another it was completely ridiculous and everything I hate about modern films.

Silver Linings Playbook for the first time. On the telly last night.

Very entertaining. And Jennifer Lawrence! - Ay, Caramba!

Yeah..she is beautiful

I ended up watching Quatermass & The Pit

Fucking ridiculous.4/10

Top Gun. I made herself watch it because she'd never seen it. She was not impressed with the females in this film.

Also saw The Lego Movie over the weekend. Great fun. It totally passed me by when it came out.

Winter Sleep

Palme D'or winner last year this was long, dolorous but captivating and full of moral ambiguity. Partly based on the short stories of Chekhov and set in Anatolia. Lots of walk outs possibly due to the length and weak bladders but I didn't find it tough at all.

Going to go watch Birdman now on it's inevitable re-release and see which one I like more. I have Cannes up 5-2 on the Oscar's over the last 7 years

Birdman?
12 Years a Slave
Argo
The Artist *
The King's Speech
The Hurt Locker
Slumdog Millionaire
No Country for Old Men *

Winter Sleep
Blue Is the Warmest Colour *
Amour *
The Tree of Life
Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives *
The White Ribbon *
The Class *
4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days

Fucking love The White Ribbon

Elysium
It was watchable enough, decent effects, but not a patch on District 9. It was Blomfeld(spelling)'s Nacho Libre. I hated as well that they were too cowardly to have a non-white main character. Also none of it made a whit of sense, the effects though were, as I say, nice. I really liked that the space habitat looked exactly like 1960s/70s speculative drawings of space habitats I used to see in books as a child.

You have Argo tied with Amour? Very different obviously but incomparable in terms of quality if you ask me.
