It's a total pet peeve of mine.

I'd love to know what Russian sounds like with an English accent.

It's like that last Philip Seymour Hoffman film before he died, A Most Wanted Man, all about German spies and shit. Real good film, then at the end you just think "Why didn't they just make the fucking thing in Germany with German actors and use English subtitles?"
The only real answer seems to be "Because, fucking morons."

The only real answer seems to be "Because, fucking morons."

The one that turned me was The Reader, set in Berlin.

The kid in it was German. He had to learn to speak English to be in the film. And was consequently, the only one speaking in his own accent.
