Here, what systems are compatible with micro-USB (the choice of Android phones)? Do any even exist? Straining my brain to think of any. Guess that's why Google had to release a $300 ball of steel so you can only stream your content from the walled garden of Google Play.

Isn't one of the the Samsung phones gaining on the iPhone? This new connector might make poeple pause before getting the 5. Then again, it could also make techno berks fork out for a whole load of new crap.

The Galaxy S III outsold the iPhone in the last quarter (and it's a better phone IMHO) but apparently it's down to the fact that a lot of people are waiting for the iphone 5 before making a purchase, which is a pretty credible reason.

If you don't like the way they do things then don't buy their products... simple as! Buying pretty much everything they've ever made and then bitching and moaning about it is childish.


It will probably be little or no time until cheap adapters come out, and it's good to hear that they're making the phone a bit smaller, I always thought the iPhone was a bit bulky for use as a phone.

I understood that all phones sold in the EU (from next year) had to use a micro USB socket for charging etc... which may mean that Apple will have to ship the iPhone 5 with an adaptor for charging.

I didn't say you'd bought everything they've ever made, though, yes, I know who you are and I'm pretty certain you've bought more than one Apple product in your lifetime.

It was a general comment, not just aimed at you.

And I think, on the whole, most Thumped posters are pretty balanced in their views. Most of us need to use technology, none of it is perfect, we try to use what is most appropriate and best fitted for the purpose.

Nokia use a different charger for it seems every model they bring out... why don't you go start a thread about that?
