Why can nobody on the internet spell 'morale'?

I got one of these things on Friday. The main use I have for it at the moment is leaving it sitting on the chair beside me in case I want to quickly check some thing that requires a bigger screen than a phone. Some of the ipad apps are good but you have to have a US itunes account.

Still not sure I could recommend getting one especially since anyone I've shown it to looks at it for a couple of minutes and says "So it's kinda like a big ipod touch then?"

How can I get movies on this thing without buying them?

I've tried every type of synch, I think.

Even tried putting them in my photos and allowing videos, but it won't let them in.

it's worth it.

only useful on wifi / very decent 3g but does the job about the house.

if you want stuff on the ipad more permanently then convert with handbrake, stick them in a converted videos folder then sync that over with itunes

Yeah that Air Video thing is the business. Buy a little iPad/VGA connector and then you can watch everything through the TV as well.

I know it's a bit late now as it's been removed from the appstore , but I use VLC app - was a bit buggy earlier on but now seems to work rock solid. Plays .avi just fine. Basic VLC goodness.
