Best/Worst Britpop era bands (1 Viewer)

I owned every Seahorses release including the appaling-by-their-own-low standards "You Can Talk To Me"
I really tricked myself into thinking that John Squire could do no wrong.
Still they had a good B-side called Falling Is Easy, but mainly its embarrassing stuff.
OCS aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be. They have always been unfairly lampooned. They had two good albums in Marchin Already and Mosely Shoals. Not particularly creative but nice Beatlesy choons for the most part.

Slight Return by the Bluetones is a classic must be said. As is Caught By The Fuzz.

I probably just phrased that like so as i've been enjoying the new gorillaz stuff - actually yeah, i liked jarvis cockers last album (if it was his last) - worth checking out for the taxi video alone. and a more recent discovery has been richard hawley of ex pulp fame. spent a good hour just randoming through his youtubes last week.

Jaysus. One of history's worst bands. Remember they were on an ad for the Sun?

Probably worse than Embrace. Vaguely remember the sun advert. was it this song

1998, Catatonia and the Manics at the top of the charts. What was going on??

Suede played a gig there on saturday. I never liked Suede (except Implement Yeah! and Can't Get Enough) but they don't have a thread and it seemed like an excuse to bump this one
Suede played:

'She'
'Trash'
'Filmstar'
'Animal Nitrate'
'Heroine'
'Pantomime Horse'
'Killing Of A Flashboy'
'Obsessions'
'Can't Get Enough'
'Everything Will Flow'
'She's In Fashion'
'The Living Dead'
'The Asphalt World'
'So Young'
'Metal Mickey'
'The Wild Ones'
'New Generation'
'Beautiful Ones'
'Saturday Night'

Trash is such a good song, i used to play it on the jukebox in me local every saturday. suede were a cut above the rest of those bands, none of which i have ever heard.

Yep, never liked Suede.

er, check this out

The Charlatans pre-dated Brit-Pop, sailed through out and came through the other side.

remarkable band that never made a bad LP.

I would agree with this but add never made a truly great LP either. I really love Tellin Stories and Us and Us only. but am only meh about the others which in fairness I don't actually own, Mates were huge fans, Actually it was them I saw at Dublin Castle at the tail end of the nineties. That explains a lot, god that era was a bit blurry.
