had an unreal weekend was sucha good session! highlight was definately ghundi so fuckin funny remember me and kieran meeting you gazza outside the pub on the sat night but fucked if i remember what was said etc ha! Did anyone get any pictures of out set on the sunday night?

A musician gets to charge what he wants to play.

If he's good/popular.....good money
And rightly so.

Its all about the music.If someone wants to hear the music and is prepared to pay.Its on.

I completely disagree that talent=money (especially because someone's talent can be someone else's shiteneess) because it's not very different from saying music=money. The key word is 'money' and no matter what way you turn it around, if you think in terms of money, other than for covering expenses that is, then Cormac's point stands.

It's not a problem with musicians making money, I think it would be brilliant if people could live making music. The problem is with the criteria of how money is devided.

But if everybody involved in a project is happy with the way the thing is organised and who gets what etc. the argument is void.
If band A wants to charge amount X and person B is willing to pay it then moanyboots C can piss off.
Simple as.

thanks to Mary, oisin, all the LK crew, enniskillen crew, Amby& Jay for sound, everyone that put something into this event, fair fucks to you all.

Next year I look forward to Cormac putting on an event of thsi undertakking with all the aspects ofa fest that people want, which includes camping, idylllic scenic location (not some shiittyy pub in belfast)caterings, good pints and good off licence, I just want to go for fun, drink, food, camping, not bothered whos playing, but will look forward to the headline band complan.

ah fuck just lost a big rant i had.

so in short.this thread was for people to talk about the fest highlights etc!
its clear the people worked their holes off and not for some profit but for the love of the rock!there are plenty of positive aspects to the fest and thats what this thread is about.

cormac has some valid points.if they are valid to the fest i don't know as i don't know what people got payed or what prior agreements were in place.
but as gazz said if people were all in the know thats that.

however i have played "diy"things before where some bands were given the" we need to pay the touring bands so can't give ye much/anything" only to find out that bands that came half the distance got loads of cash now thats shit!
but its for another more general thread. posting in this thread was only ever going to be seen as bitching/having ago! and in turn people taking sides rather than actual discussion which is healthy (no?) so if some one wants to start a new thread??

i look forward to the new thread......but if someone has some funny fest stories/gossip to get this back on topic?
