Gorgeous.

Out On A Limb Records are delighted to announce the first physical release from Hidden Highways with their self-titled debut EP set to hit record store shelves in time for this year’s Record Store Day (April 21st), with the digital release coming at the end of this month. Hidden Highways is a collaboration project featuring two of the country’s most talented songwriters, Carol Anne McGowan and Tim V. Smyth. Mining a rich vein of stripped down folk and raw boned country, the two started working together in late 2010 and have been crafting wonderful folk-tinged numbers ever since.

After releasing a digital single last year on Out On A Limb Records, the duo set about writing and recording material for this new release. Two new compositions ‘In Defence Of Magpies’ and ‘Burnt Ships’ are joined by covers of ‘Come Wander With Me’ (featured in a 1964 episode of The Twilight Zone) and Jackson C. Frank’s ‘Blues Run The Game’.

The EP will be available in your favourite independent record stores from April 20th, but you can also pick it up at this weekend’s Hidden Highways gigs (their first!) in specially screenprinted packaging. Swish. You can also preorder the CD from OOAL’s online shop.
