Crayonsmith/Elk Split 7″

Out On A Limb have just released a split 7″ from Crayonsmith & Elk. The launch gig was last Saturday night in Plugd Records, Cork, with a Dublin launch on 17th December Upstairs in Whelan’s.

We’re delighted to announce our next release – a split 7 inch single featuring Crayonsmith and Elk.

One side will feature “Heaven In An Aeroplane”, the first release from Crayonsmith since 2008’s acclaimed sophomore album “White Wonder”. The release also marks the first released recording of the new Crayonsmith line up – founder Ciarán Smith is joined by Richie O’Reilly (Koalacord) & Wayne Dunlea (ex Waiting Room/Hooray For Humans). It gives a timely taster of what to expect as the trio prepare the third Crayonsmith album, due for release on Out On A Limb in 2012.

The other side features a previously unreleased track from Cork outfit Elk. We’ve been big fans of these guys for a while (their self-released debut ‘We Should Start Our Own Gang’ got frequently played ’round here) and are delighted that they are on board for their release.

Both tracks are now available for your listening pleasure at OOAL’s soundcloud. The 7 inch will be available from independent stores and online here from Friday, November 25th.

The single will receive the official launch treatment with a gig at Cork’s Plugd Records on Saturday, November 26th. Both bands will play live, with OOAL & Plugd DJs afterwards. Doors at 8.30pm, and facebook event page is here. More dates around Ireland featuring Elk and Crayonsmith will take place in December and January.

Have a listen:
