Attention Corkonians: After the success of last year’s Cork Rock City compilation, those crazy bastards down at Drop-D.ie are going to do it all over again.
This is the formal call for submissions for inclusion on Drop-d.ie‘s second annual Cork Rock City compilation, to be released November 1st, 2011. Deadline for submissions is Monday October 17th @ 12pm.
Off the success of last year’s Cork Rock City compilation, released in November last year, notching up thousands of downloads and mentions in the Irish Independent, 96FM, and Cork newspapers, we’ve decided to run it again this year. Only bigger and better.
We want your music, your artwork, your photography and gig/promo videos to make the definitive document of the Cork music and arts scene right now. In the past year, things have been electrifying on our live scene, with great bands young and veteran filling up our venues, while [R]evolution of a Sun, Ten Past Seven, Former Monarchs, Agitate the Gravel and more have been releasing must-listen albums and singles.
All genres considered, from metal to electronica. Please send your best/favourite song/piece in .wav format ONLY. (NO covers can taken, unfortunately.)
Any promo vids or live vids you wish to submit for consideration can be passed on in .mp4 format (for iPods and the like).
Off the success of our “alternate covers” concept last year, we’re also taking artistic submissions for cover art from Cork artists and photographers, based around Cork landmarks. All entries considered and the more original, the better. Please send in 1000×1000 .png format.
(Please note – this is a non-for-profit project, but feel free to create a flyer to advertise your services that will be bundled with the download.)
Any poetry of any genre, or writing/essays regards Cork arts or Cork music will be considered for inclusion. 🙂
This town is what matters in this country’s music scene. Let’s show them all what we’ve got going on here.
Them’s fighting words, mister.
