Legion Of Two, Dublin Laptop Orchestra, Lurch – The Joinery, 26th April

The incredible Legion Of Two make their live return with a gig at The Joinery on April 26th, ahead of the release of their second album ‘Textures‘ later this year.

Legion Of Two
Released in 2009, Riffs stands as Legion Of Two’s only output – a collage of industrial, metal and dub influences that was as abrasive as it was unexpected. Album number two, tentively titled ‘Textures’ was recorded in sporadic bursts in early 2012 and is currently being mixed in equally sporadic bursts in 2013. Less focused on riffs and more on drifting walls of electronic noise, ‘Textures’ will move into a more hypnotic and freeform space. Less rock – less space!
Dublin Laptop Orchestra
We make music with lots of laptops, hands, golf controllers, hemispherical speakers and anyone that plays.. anything. Our aim is to bring some theatricality and ‘physical presence’ into electronic music performance. We’ve played with some pretty amazing acoustic musicians such as This Is How Fly, Yurodny, Crash Ensemble and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra but we also like to indulge in some all out electronics from time to time. Listen to a live session we recorded with the Curious Broadcast here http://curiousbroadcast.com/dublin-laptop-orchestra-radio-show/1662/.
Lurch
Lurch is a new three piece based in Dublin. Having formed in January 2013 this will be their first public outing. The trio trade in tense, creepy sounding low end dirge rock that veers from the quiet and ominous to the crushingly heavy.
