Win yourself a pair of tickets for Windings, The Altered Hours & Princess who play The Button Factory on December 18th.
Windings are a 5-piece rock/alt/pop/indie/folk/ (etc…) band from Limerick City, Ireland. Released in October 2012 on Out On A Limb Records, I Am Not The Crow has been lauded by critics both nationally and internationally as one of the top Irish albums of that year, with its lead single ‘This Is A Conversation’ achieving considerable airplay on it’s release. However, the most exciting part was yet to come when I Am Not The Crow was nominated for the Choice Music Award, the most prestigious Musical Prize in Ireland. Windings have been touring more or less full throttle since the album’s release, pausing briefly every now and again to regroup/refresh/have a quick love of life, then hit the road hard again.
The Altered Hours
The Altered Hours are a Cork based Psych/shoegaze outfit with an incredible live reputation not to be missed. The Altered Hours exist in a swirl of the psychedelic and hypnotic. Their new single Sweet Jelly Roll was recorded in autumn 2012 with Fabien Leseure in Berlin, and was be released in April 2013 as a 10” vinyl and for digital download by A Records (Brian Jonestown Massacre, Dirty Beaches). The band’s debut release, Downstream, was recorded in a reclaimed government building which housed the band’s Cracks in the Light Studio, and was released independently. 2012 has seen The Altered Hours play their lush blend of guitar-driven garage-rock and hazy dream-pop to audiences around Europe with appearances at Electric Picnic and the Liverpool Psych Fest, along with shows in Germany and the U.K.
Princess are a 4 piece Noise band from Dublin. The group creates a wide and spacious spectrum of sound. Blending elements of Krautrock, Psychedelic and Noise, their music has a firm grounding in melody and rhythm. They pride themselves on trying creating interesting ideas within a simple musical format, rather then being just another dreaded rock band.
