Honningbarna are back in Whelan’s next Wednesday and we’ve a couple of tickets to give away.
Honningbarna are a Norwegian punk band with absolute contempt for the establishment, seething lyrics & riffs that kick the floor. Honningbarna take you by scruff of the neck and won’t let you down until you have knelt and received a solid lesson in punk rock! Their live show is a wall of riffs underpinned by the snarling vocals of frontman and cellist Edvard Valberg and were one of the unquestionable highlights of this year’s Eurosonic festival leaving any journalist who caught them live reaching for their lexicon.
Their name translated into English means ‘Honey Children’. They debuted in 2010 with the EP Honningbarna. In January 2011 they won a new music competition, Årets Uhørt by the radio station NRK P3 with the song Borgerskapets utakknemlige sønner (“Ungrateful sons of the bourgeoisie”). On the 25th March the same year they released their debut album La alarmane gå (Let the alarms go). It won the rock award for Spellemannprisen 2011.
If you fancy a pair of tickets just send an email with HONNINGBARNATICKETSPLEASE as its subject to firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight on Monday November 12th.
