Iceland’s Feldberg play Upstairs At Whelans on Thursday 4th August with support from Last Days Of 1984 and we’ve got some tickets to give away.
Scroll down for a look at Feldberg’s video for their Don’t Be A Stranger single which was released earlier this year.
Meet Reykjavik pop-rock duo Feldberg, the newest addition to Iceland’s enviable canon of internationally acclaimed acts and the latest signings to Smalltown America‘s blossoming, eclectic roster. Consisting of singer Rósa Birgitta Ísfeld and multi-instrumentalist Einar Tönsberg (better known as Eberg), Feldberg first came together in 2008.
The duo’s singles ‘Don’t Be a Stranger’ and ‘Dreamin” have turned heads both at home and abroad. ‘Dreamin” won Best Song at the 2010 Icelandic Music Awards and was selected by trendsetting French boutique label Kitsuné for its Maison 9 compilation, while ‘Don’t Be a Stranger’ spent four weeks in the Icelandic top 10.
Last Days Of 1984 are Brian Rice and Darren Moloney. Influenced by chill-wave and tropical electronica they call their genre of music, ‘Beach House’. Beach House features elements of surf, afro-beat and 90’s dance mixed with waves of nostalgia for 80’s childhood movie soundtracks. They released their first single, River’s Edge in June 2011
So about those free tickets – yes, as usual just send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with FELDBERGTICKETSPLEASE as the subject and including your thumped username & your real name by midnight on Tuesday 2nd August to be in with a shot.
