Efterklang play The Button Factory on October 26th as part of their three date Irish tour and we’ve a couple of tickets for you to win.
Efterklang is a Danish band, based in Berlin, Germany and consists of 3 childhood friends Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen & Rasmus Stolberg. Performing live Efterklang is joined by talented people like Martyn Heyne (piano, guitar, vocal), Tatu Rönkkö (drums), Katinka Fogh Vindelev (piano, vocal) and often also full symphonic orchestras.
Signed to British label 4AD, the band released their 4th album ‘Piramida‘ in September last year. This year sees the band embarking on a tour with their 6-piece band in support of the latest album. Along the new album Efterklang has also launched ‘The Piramida Concerts’ which premiered in a unique concert with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in Sydney Opera House May 26th 2012. In total the band played 16 of these orchestral concerts in connection with the release of the ‘Piramida‘ album.
Efterklang also dabble with filmmaking (see ‘The Ghost of Piramida’ by Andreas Koefoed & An Island, their collaborative film with Vincent Moon) and they also use to run the tiny, but prolific label Rumraket.
The new video for ‘Monument’ by Andreas Koefoed and Hvass&Hannibal marks the 1 year anniversary of the release of 4th album ‘Piramida‘ of which ‘Monument’ is the closing song.
It also honours ‘The Piramida Concert‘, the live album released June 10th 2013 together with the classical orchestra Copenhagen Phil.
And further it marks the digital release of Andreas Koefoed’s Efterklang documentary ‘The Ghost of Piramida‘ available for online renting and download at http://vimeo.com/ondemand/piramida.
Efterklang play Belfast’s Elmwood Hall on Thursday 24th October, Cork Opera House on Friday 25th October, and The Button Factory in Dublin on Saturday 26th October.
