also, I was on jury duty once and a lad was up for assault for baiting the shite out of another lad, on the hapen'ny bridge.

I do remember as a kid that every time I walked across it I couldn't wait to get back off if cos I was convinced it was going to collapse into the river.

My main thought on this bridge is that anytime I use it it's got tourists taking their photo on it right beside the homeless people. So sad.

Is there a better bridge on the Liffey? I quite like the Rory O'More bridge and, returning to the Liffey ferries theme

However, it became known locally as Bloody Bridge, following several deaths resulting from violence after the arrest of ferrymen who attempted to destroy the bridge (in an ill-fated attempt to protect their livelihoods)

The new bridges are shite for the most part, no character.
