This and its sequel were in the house when I was growing up. Loved them. Presumed they were common place
Young fella brought them back from a visit to the home place, so I did some research and it would seem that far from being revered children’s classics, they’ve somewhat vanished in terms of ever being reprinted etc - author doesn’t have a wiki for example
