Wilco

‘One of the best live bands in existence.’ Q

'Wilco are among the best live acts in the world. When this band are on stage, wonders really do never cease.' Financial Times

This is the first time Jeff Tweedy's Chicago based band have ever played in Belfast and after the recent release of their back-to-form 10th album, simply titled Wilco, we expect this Irish exclusive to be an outstanding show.

Wilco are one of the world's most acclaimed and respected bands and their festival appearance will reveal a group sixteen years into its career and at the peak of its game. “I have to say, this was the most fun I've ever had making a record,” says Jeff Tweedy. “We worked really hard, but it was pretty joyous work, and it came together quicker than any record I can remember.”

The Felice Brothers

This is also the first time The Felice Brothers have played Belfast and is another Irish exclusive show. Hailing from the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York, The Felice Brothers blend folk, Americana and revivalist roots rock into a uniquely earthy sound. Brothers Ian, Simone and James Felice grew up in the Hudson River Valley, several miles away from the musical hamlet of Woodstock.
Such icons as Bob Dylan and The Band once found inspiration in the region, and the Felice youngsters were driven by a similar muse, gathering every Sunday afternoon for jam sessions and cookouts at their father's house. As their skills improved, the brothers opted to leave the Catskills and relocate to New York City.
After releasing their early albums on small-time labels, 2008 brought good fortune as the band signed with Conor Oberst's Team Love Records and released a self-titled LP the same year. Last year's release Yonder Is The Clock, which was recorded in an old chicken coop, was named BBC Music's 2009 Country Album Of The Year.

You have been warned - miss this band at your peril.
