dirt cheap compared to yer average "name" producer (though he's not a producer, he records, but then that's partly the point) but still pretty expensive... what you do is rent out a room in electrical audio and then rent a person to record you in the room, which can be steve or can be somebody else there (steve is about $200 more expensive, if memory serves)... they can also put you up in the studio too... i remember working out that plane fares + rooms + studio + steve for 2 days would be about 700 yoyos each if there's 4 people in your band, but don't quote me on that cos i've completely forgotten the rates. easiest way to find out is to ring up electrical audio. or ask old or beardo or stevefanagan.

When we was there:
Studio B = $600 per day
Studio A = $800 per day
Engineer = $100 per day
Albini as Engineer = $250 per day
Accommodation for whole band = $100 per day
Then there was 2" tape and 1/2" tape to pay for.

There's no pre-requisite about liking your band.
Everybody there is terribly nice, though.
And they have a heated billiards table.

Fuck me, it just dawned on me (with the help of my phone calculator) how affordable that is compared to some of the places i've recorded in.

And its always been a dream of mine to get 17 minutes sleep on a heated table.

Hey,
Just so you guys know, that site is just one that I through together. It is in no way affiliated with Berkeley.I thought more people should know about them so I spammed it all over American chats and shit and managed to get some Americans to buy the "New Star" E.P.
Anyway.Berkeley now have their official site online here .It's a pretty cool site and is being added to all the time.I'm mod on their board at the moment so come spam me here .
