well.
it's too big for local bands for a start. stage is mad high and even if you pulled in a 100 people it just isn't atmospheric. more importantly the sound was woeful, having the sound desk in the rafters was the main problem with the mean fiddler and i have no idea why that wasn't fixed with the re-design.
also, we had to soundcheck without monitors. which is utterly ridiculous for a place like that.

yeah its not very atmospheric... it looks empty without a big crowd... i thought it was too bright too... the sound wasn't that bad but playing without monitors is fucking horrible..
its expensive enough aswell, isn't it?

thinking of playing there egg? do you have the profile for mono then?

It's obvious that it was redesigned as a cattle market stylee nightclub so why would they bother - they levelled the floor, pushed a huge bar along one wall and there are no seats except those ones by the door and stools at the pillars. All designed to my mind to squish as many punters in as possible for hateful R&B and UK Garage nights. And really, you could listen to that shite through a cows arse and it wouldn't sound any worse.
