What would you do? (3 Viewers)

Dear Scutter.
You are my fucking hero for the day. If I was the CEO of Shimano, there would be a Dura Ace group winging its way to you.

Seriously. I know, right, of course, in hind sight you could have been stabbed, or battered.
But, on a President Bush sort of level, on a gut level, this is what you should do.

If some guy was battering my wife, or my sisters, it just doesn't matter what happens to me to an extent, I work that out later. Another woman... yeah, I think I might. I dunno if I really have the balls though.

Well done. .|..|

having said that, my mate got jumped in Gardener street there, and they whipped out knives on him.

having said that, he is a light heavy weight boxer out of Cabra (decent gyms out there).

having said that, he was locked.

having said that, he still battered the heads off some of them in a manner that suggested the rest of the lads put away their knives and promptly vacate the area.

Its fucking scary shit though. I saw a lad get handed out a beating from a doorman in a pub in Maynooth that was completely over the top. At the time I was with my gf, she was really disturbed by it, and we legged it. (Pre mobile phone times.)
Later (I think) that same lad was up in court for killing someone. (Different date)
And, I have felt like a bit of a douche about that it has to be said.
At the time the whol thing was so violent, I just wanted to get the pair of us home.

I stopped a rumble in work years back, much the same as Hector in that herself was hammered and the boy was making to box her ears. Rich folk too, both high. The guy managed to calm down and then left shortly afterwards, apologised to the doormen and all.

Herself hunground with her friends. She was in a right state altogether. Came up to thank me after the bar had closed and punched me full in my beautiful nose.

I did'nt open my mouth again for an entire 15 seconds after we escorted them out. Rare.

ah here, I'd jump into the middle of a gang of 1000 raging lunatics if I thought that was up for grabs!

cheers to one and all for the positive comments though. They're reassuring. Just what I needed. Thumped rules

call the cops.

for all the good that will do..we were walking up o'connell street last year and saw a dude beating several shades of shite out of his girlfriend.i took out my phone to ring the guards but then saw one standing outside the gpo. I went up to him and was like 'can you see that' and he told me to go away because he was busy apprehending some chinese dudes who were messing with a shopping trolley..i started giving out and then the agressor guy jumped into a taxi and ran off..so I asked the guard to radio for an ambulance..

absolutely shocking stuff and I was really upset over it..I couldn't believe anyone could be so wankerish..

Y’know, I was told by the Health and Safety people in work that digital photographs carry no weight in court, because they can be tampered with.
Is this true? Because it sounds mental.

sounds like health and safety need to read some susan sontag and john berger

maybe they should also give no legal weight to any photo taken with a 20mm lens, too?

fair play scutter

not sure what I would do, definitely call the cops anyway.

on a happier note with regards to those anecdotes of bystanders being attacked by the aggressor and the victim.

- A neighbour of mine intervened in a situation where a man was hitting a woman repeatedly outside a pub. He overpowered the attacker, gave him a few digs, sat on top of him until the cops came and ended up going out with the lady. They're now married.

must spread some rep ..... you're totally my hero. I would imagine very few or no other people on this board (apart from a few of the ladies it seems) would have put themselves in physical danger.

it's scary how often people prefer to mind their own business or pretends its not happening.

On a less violent note, some little old lady collapsed outside BOI college green and people just kept on walking ... A little old lady!!
my friends stopped in shock, came to her rescue called an ambulance, but most kept on walking.

similar thing happened me when I was in a minor crash, was flying down dame full speed on my bike car in front of me revved the car to go through the lights, they turned orange he slammed on brakes I, slammed into him.

one of the drivers got out of the car to move me off the road and then drove off.

People are weird, a friend of mine was very ill for years and had problems walking without crutches, despite this people rarely if ever offered her a seat on the bus, presumably because she was young.

in summary,

you're a rare bird scutter!.|..|:):):)
