timothy spall = brillant in this.

I really liked this.
I thought she was great, despite all the innane babble she was in the end far more perceptive than anyone else around her and pretty determined, how could you not like her?

By the end I liked her and she was smarter than the start of the film would have you believe.

Still, an annoying character is an annoying character no matter where she ends up. The first half an hour was a real challenge to sit through.

It's a very slight film, though.

Valkyre - great
wrestler - great, bit disappointed with the ending
zack and miri make a porno - deadly
pan's labyrinth - good stuff
snatch - always good
the outsiders - great stuff
super troopers - gets better every time
beerfest - gets less funny every time - they need to stick to the "bunch of dudes being funny" stuff and keep away from the "funny premise" stuff. Hopefully super troopers 2 will be back to the old stuff.

That and shitloads of west/green wing.

I enjoyed taken.Bit of a larf alright.

I watched Green Line last night.Mother of god.Desperate.
Bilbo Bagins joins football hooligans.Muck.
I quite enjoyed it though.

Saw Man On Wire in the new Lighthouse in Smithfield.. very engrossing film, and well put together. If anything I thought they should've let the tightrope walker do less talking to the camera, because although he was obviously a flamboyant storyteller, the more he talked about it the more it felt like an old con-man bigging up his myth and less like something that actually happened. Definately worth seeing though.

i just saw this tonight, i thought it was great. 45 minutes he spent on the wire! and crossed 8 times! it doesnt bear thinking about. i was terrified just standing on the view platform.

and then he gets down and has sex while his friends are deported.

Anyone else not impressed by Slumdog?

I don't get it. It's junk, no?

I'm with you scrankio. It's sort of a tabloid angela's ashes.

...with a tagged on happy ending. And what was with that shoehorned in dance sequence at the end?
Couldn't find it in myself to care about the version of the main character that was in the millionaire chair for some reason. And couldn't help but think of all the other poor fucks left back in the slums.

That said, it was alright like - not the movie the press / award nominations are hyping it up to be though. I wouldn't have called it "feelgood" either.

I watched The Last King of Scotland last night. Great stuff. Very entertaining.
