good work moose, mel actually contacted me about that yesterday. but think i'm heading for a 30 watt orange head, a new one.

yeah I forgot that a DR103 through the normal channel would cover a lot of the tonal issues you raised in your OP. When i had a 70s orange & matched cab I thought it was voiced really weirdly and had limited adaptability. Would sound great with some guitars and rubbish with others, very pronounced mids.
